Bazon Brock
Bazon Brock situates himself as an artist without work and a thinker on duty.
His interaction and collaboration with JB dates back in the 1960s. He relates JB's personality and acting to the idea of an authority based on both individual autonomy and collaboration between diversities. He witnesses JB's engagement for the recipient of art, and emphatizes his practice of self-mythologization.
Johannes Stüttgen
Johannes Stüttgen reflects the social plastic.
1967 at the academy of fine arts in Düsseldorf: the process of becoming JB's disciple starts with the bone of an American cave bear and a revolver, because both are related to death. About the ampliation of the concept of art, artistic practice as a form of teaching, and everything which will have to become art in the future.
Hans Ulrich Reck
Hans Ulrich Reck revisits Celtic + ~~~~.
Notes from Basel around 1971. As a young man related to Fluxus and Frank Zappa, he visits the atomic shelters for JB's performance. Foot washing, sound production, film projections, handling with blackboards, collecting of jellies, silence and baptism. A collage of impressions and thoughts about war, democracy, participation, carnival, the materiality and performativity of art.
Hambi bleibt
This contribution could not be shown in the program.
Because of its political position and judgment with regard to Joseph Beuys' political attitude, the statement of the forest occupation "Hambi bleibt" was not published by teatro out off.
Kuai Shen
Kuai Shen's work as an artist occurs in observing and interacting with ants.
He reports about his research project dedicated to ants of the Amazonas and their impact on the society and culture of the Sarayaku people. The colonial name of these ants is army ants, but their Kitchua name means rain ants. About entanglement, weaving, and Kawasak Sacha, the living forest.
Ute Reeh
Ute Reeh and Zentrum für Peripherie
The story of a concrete base plate, as a realized sculpture of processuality. Because learning happens by chance, avangarde comes from the periphery and communication needs space to happen.
cambio di frequenza
Raum 002, a composition
Tobias Grewenig, Volker Hennes, Matthias Neuenhofer, Susanna Schoenberg scanned visually and acustically room 002 at the academy for fine arts Düsseldorf, a space which is not supposed to be used for art anymore – there they found some material traces of Joseph Beuys' acting.
